The dirtier the feet, the happier the heart 🦶🏼

Going barefoot is the most basic sensory experience of them all – the feeling of dirt, rocks, leaves and twigs beneath their feet. Our feet are hard-wired with multiple pressure points and nerve endings to convey messages to other parts of our body. Going barefoot stimulates them and, in turn, our entire nervous system. It also helps children orient their bodies in space, and develop skills like balance and coordination.

What a perfect way to connect with the earth by putting our feet on the ground ❤️

Filming Reminder! Hello all. As many are aware there has been a movie that is being filmed in and around Gravesend. We at the Hive are lucky enough to have filming going on outside the setting on the Hive where you will see many props such as tents, skate board ramp graffiti. Shutters have been painted on with wordings and many more props are out to create the aesthetic for the movie 🎥. We have been speaking with the children and creating our own shows such as today we are having our own Xfactor style activity within the session.

Today we are exploring Literacy while using our senses. The children hear the story ‘Three Little Pigs and the wolf’. They are provided different resources to tell the story in real time while exploring maths, Expressive art and Design Literacy and knowledge and understanding of the world to name a few. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring this activity and added their own ideas and created new experiences. .....
