🎢 β€œSinging, on the whole, has done more than fill our classrooms with music. It has helped build resilience, confidence, and a sense of togetherness. It has given our children a voice, sometimes quite literally!...Our school choir have recently sung in the community at local shopping areas and a residential home; they love spreading joy to others and seeing people uplifted by their love for music.” – M Turner, Class Teacher, Hawthorns School

As another school year draws to a close, reflections like this highlight the extraordinary role music plays in children's lives. Through singing, young people build confidence, strengthen friendships, discover their voices, and make meaningful connections with their wider communities.

To every teacher who has organised rehearsals, led choirs, prepared performances, and created opportunities for children to shine: thank you. The moments you've made possible this year are memories that will last a lifetime. πŸ’™

Looking for a fun World Cup themed song to try in your next assembly? πŸ†

🌊 Mexican Wave is an easy echo song where each line is repeated and gradually lowers in pitch, making it quick for pupils to pick up.

You can turn it into a physical wave across rows or groups, so everyone is involved and moving together.

It is simple, structured and really effective when engagement is starting to dip.

You will find it in the Song Bank and as part of our World Cup singing assembly if you want a ready-made session. Both currently available for FREE with a free trial login! https://f.mtr.cool/vmsprxjnag
