Nelson’s tower will re-open for the season this Saturday, 28 March from 2-4pm. Entry is by donation.

The Tolbooth and Nelson's Tower will be open again to tourists this spring.

Nelson's Tower will open this Saturday. It will be open everyday from 2-4pm until the end of September. Entry is by donation and we take cash or cards.

The Tolbooth where you can tour the old police cells, jailhouse, courtroom and clocktower will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10-midday. Just turn up. The cost is £7.50 for those aged 16 and over. To book a tour of the Tolbooth outwith these times please email: [email protected]

Sueno’s Stone - This huge seven metre Pictish carved monolith is situated at the eastern end of the town, just off the A96. It was carved between the mid AD 800s and early AD 900s. Featuring detailed illustrations etched into all four faces of this local sandstone slab.

Maintained by Historic Environment Scotland and FREE to visit.
