Part-Time Shop Assistant & Baker

We're looking for someone to join our small team at the Old Market.

While this role includes serving customers in our refill shop, we're particularly keen to find someone who is interested in baking and would enjoy becoming part of the bakery side of the business too.

The role involves helping customers use our refill bins, explaining how the shop works, keeping the shop looking welcoming and well-stocked, and generally being a friendly face for our lovely community of customers. Much of the shop work is carried out independently, so you'll need to be confident working on your own and taking initiative.

Alongside this, there is an opportunity to get involved in our micro bakery. Whether you already have baking experience or are keen to learn, we'd love to hear from people who are enthusiastic about making good food from scratch. For the right person, baking could become a significant part of the role.

Shop opening hours are:

Monday to Friday: 9.30am – 4.30pm
Saturday: 9.30am – 1.30pm

We're fairly flexible with shifts. As bakery work often happens outside shop opening hours, there may be opportunities for additional hours and flexibility for someone keen to take on baking responsibilities.

We're looking for someone who is:

Reliable and comfortable working independently
Interested in sustainable living and refill shopping
Enthusiastic about baking and food
Keen to learn new skills and become part of a small, growing business
