Although most of us love to eat some chocolate, especially on occasions such as Halloween, this is not a treat we should share with our dogs! 🍫
Chocolate contains two dangerous substances - theobromine and caffeine - that can easily cause intoxication in dogs.
Toxicity depends on cocoa percentage, quantity ingested, and the size/weight of your dog. The darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it becomes.
After ingesting chocolate, dogs might have diarrhoea, muscle tremors, faster breathing and heart rate, and difficulties walking. In severe cases, intoxication can be fatal. ⚠
If you recognise any of these signs or if you see your dog eat chocolate, don't hesitate to contact us!
