What are the risks?

Pulsed shortwave cannot be used if:
- You are pregnant
- You have a pacemaker
- You have an electronic implant
- You have recent infection in the area
- You are currently bleeding or expecting bleeding in the area that is being treated
- You have had recent radiotherapy in the area being treated within the last 6 months
- You have severe heart or circulatory problems
- You have haemophilia and are not covered by factor replacement
- You have a cancer or suspected cancer over the area being treated
- You are not able to consent to treatment
- You are unable to comprehend instructions or cooperate
- Your skin is in poor condition in the area being treated
- You are a child and treatment is over active growth plates
- The abdomen or pelvis area is being treated and you are experiencing menstruation
