Written by Nev Connor and Hayley-Anne Dunstan, Farewell Jamaica is performed solo by Nev Connor, bringing to life a story of heritage, hardship, and belonging through humour, music, and direct audience interaction.

The performance runs for approximately 60 minutes and ends with a Q&A, so you'll have the chance to hear more about the show and the history behind it. Saturday 25 July, 2pm in the Rougemont Room at Exeter Library.

Tickets are £5 for library members and £7 for non-members. Get your tickets via this link 👉https://www.facebook.com/events/3577254889097958

Telling Tales is back for the summer holidays 🌞

We're running two free storytelling and creative writing workshops for children aged 6–11 at Exeter Library: Wednesday 5 August and Friday 28 August, 11am–12.15pm in the Rougemont Room on the 2nd floor.

This summer's theme is journeys, travel and adventure. Inspired by books like The Faraway Tree and Around the World in 80 Days, children will invent imaginary lands, dream up new modes of transport and write their own stories and poems using games and creative prompts 💭🖊

The sessions are led by our Chris from the library team, founder of Spork! Poetry and former Bard of Exeter. Both sessions are broadly the same.

Places are free. Book one ticket per child. Grown-ups are welcome to stay and join in.
