🐾 An update on the rescue kittens 🐾

They are doing so well! Now flea-free, they are safely inside and have completely taken over the place 😂🏠🐱

It has been so lovely watching their personalities grow.

Kitty, the little girl, has finally caught up in size with her brother. She’s still small, but she’s no longer half his size!

Mugsy, the boy, literally lives up to his name — he mugs you at every opportunity 😂 His personality is absolutely hilarious. He is always up to some kind of mischief, and with him around, there is never a dull moment!

I also have to give so much credit to Athena.

She was raised with a litter of kittens and is, in fact, very cat-like herself because of it. She has been the best foster mum these two could ever have asked for. She treats them like they are her own pups. They sleep with her, play with her, and even suckle from her… although not quite where you might think — they suckle on her neck! 😂❤️

It is going to be so sad when they eventually leave, but I think my own cat, Precious, might actually kill me if I kept either of them. She is absolutely not impressed. She won’t go near them, won’t come inside, and is constantly hissing at me and growling.

How dare I help other cats?! 😂😾

Thankfully, both kittens have amazing homes waiting for them. We are just waiting to hear when they can go, as both families are moving into new homes and getting everything ready to make it perfect for their new little arrivals.

As sad as it will be to say goodbye, knowing they are going to loving homes makes it all worthwhile.

These two little troublemakers came into our lives needing help, and they have completely stolen our hearts in the process.

From scared, flea-covered little rescue kittens to happy, healthy, mischievous little personalities — they have come such a long way. ❤️🐱

We will enjoy every single moment we have left with them… even if they are currently running the house, Athena is their surrogate mum, and Precious is preparing to file a formal complaint. 😂🐾

Let's talk about transporting dogs in the heat. ☀️🐶

This morning, unfortunately, our van broke down while we were out collecting dogs.

Thankfully, because we have a thorough risk assessment and contingency plan in place, we had a backup vehicle with us within five minutes of a call and were able to continue our day with minimal disruption.

It got me thinking...

Our van has a ventilation system, and we're also having air conditioning installed. But here's something many people don't realise: none of these systems work if the engine isn't running.

If you're stranded for any length of time, you can't leave the dogs in the van because it will quickly become dangerously hot. You have to get them out and find a safe, shaded place to wait.

But what if...

•You're broken down in the middle of town with no shade?

•You have to wait hours for recovery?

•The breakdown company won't allow dogs in the recovery vehicle?

•Clients aren't available to collect their dogs?

The list goes on.

We all know how dangerous it is to leave a dog in a hot vehicle, but breakdowns can happen to anyone, even with the best-maintained vehicles.

So, here's my question to fellow dog walkers and pet transporters:

What's your emergency plan if your vehicle breaks down in hot weather?
What procedures do you have in place to keep the dogs safe?

Being a dog walker is about so much more than taking dogs out for their daily adventures.

Over time, we don't just build incredible bonds with the dogs in our care—we also get to know the wonderful people behind them. Our clients become part of our extended family, and that means being there for them through life's ups and downs.

Looking after your dog will always be our priority, but caring for the people who trust us with their beloved companions is just as important. Because to us, it's never just about dog walking—it's about kindness, compassion, and being there when it matters most. ❤️🐾
