Highlight #3 - All the magnificent music! 🎶🎤🎸

Music is such a beloved part of The Maynard and 2025-26 has been no exception... Anyone who has been in the audience at one of this year's many concerts and musical performances will know that our wonderful musicians of all ages have absolutely smashed it on stage this year!

As proud sponsors of the Exeter Chiefs Women, it's great to see this residential rugby camp on offer from the 3rd to the 5th August, giving girls with a passion for rugby the opportunity to train with the best!

Maynard rugby has continued going from strength to strength this year, played throughout school all the way from Year 3 up, so we know plenty of keen Maynard rugby players might be interested - find out more and book:

Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted our lovely Pre-Prep featuring on BBC Spotlight at lunchtime today! 🎥

In June, they enjoyed a very special assembly with Mariam Badavi, author of The Big Sunny Adventure, shown on Spotlight to raise awareness for looking after our skin in the sun from an early age.

Together, they discovered the importance of sun safety, reading Mariam's book and trying on UV-sensitive bracelets. A fab lesson to learn before heading off on lovely sunny holidays this summer! 🌞

🎭 Come and make theatre with our Drama Department! 🎭

Join us for an exciting 5-day drama workshop from Monday 17th to Friday 21st August, where young actors aged 10-14 will be able to immerse themselves in all things drama.

🌟 Interactive sessions led by experienced teachers
🌟 Developing creative expression and improvisation
🌟 Creating work for performance in a safe environment
🌟 Building confidence on stage and learning new skills

The workshop will run daily from 10am to 3pm. For young theatre enthusiasts out there who want to learn more, do more and create more – come along and see what we do!

Oh what a night! Yesterday we said a bittersweet goodbye to our fantastic Upper 6 (Year 13) at their fabulous Leavers' Ball.

The awards they received highlighted what a truly special year group they are; full of talent, courage, kindness, and a wicked sense of humour, which shone through when they awarded their own famous 'Spoon' awards to staff members! Then, parents, teachers and our lovely leaving students enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, and much dancing late into the night.

We will miss them very much, and wish them all the best in their next adventures. Congratulations, Class of 2026!

As we reach the end of another incredible year at The Maynard, it’s the perfect moment to celebrate all that we’ve achieved, the memories we’ve made, and the remarkable journey that has been 2025/26! 🌟💙

Sandy Park was alive with so many of our wonderful students and their families today, coming together to give this year a very worthy send-off! The performances were beautiful, the speeches left not a dry eye in the house, and we were overjoyed to give out so many prizes to recognise achievements across all subjects and aspects of school life.

It was a fantastic afternoon, rounded off in perfect style with a rousing rendition of our favourite anthem, There’s Something About The Maynard!

Huge, huge congratulations to this year's prize winners, and thank you so much to our fabulous Maynard community for everything this year! We wish everyone a wonderful, well-deserved summer break and look forward to seeing what next year will bring!
