POV: youโ€™ve just found your favourite green space in the city ๐ŸŒฟโ˜€๏ธ

A spot to pause, reset and enjoy a slower moment in the middle of it all.
Whether itโ€™s a picnic on Cathedral Green, a wander through Northernhay, or a quiet coffee break in Southernhay, Exeterโ€™s full of places to step away and soak up some fresh air.

๐ŸŒฟ Cathedral Green โ€“ space to sit, meet and watch the city go by
๐ŸŒณ Northernhay Gardens โ€“ shaded paths and historic views
๐ŸŒผ Southernhay โ€“ perfect for a lunchtime reset
๐ŸŒฟ Rougemont Gardens โ€“ just steps from Exeter Library, a peaceful green space perfect for a quiet break between browsing the shelves and exploring the city
๐ŸŒฑ Belmont Park โ€“ open space and time to stretch out
๐ŸŒธ Bury Meadow โ€“ a play park and wide paths to roam just a short walk from Queen Street
๐ŸŒพ Bull Meadow Park โ€“ a peaceful park ideal for families

For parents needing space, students with time between lectures, or anyone stepping away from the desk for a breather โ€“ thereโ€™s a green spot waiting nearby ๐ŸŒž

Save this for your next sunny day in the city

As June Boom draws to a close, we asked our June Boom Producer, Belinda Dillon, to share some of the moments that made this year's celebration of Exeter's arts, culture and creativity so special.

๐ŸŽญ Exeter Comedy Festival - for the top-notch laughs (still howling over Adam Riches' Sean Bean impression), the incredible variety of shows, and the chance to see big names in intimate venues across the city.

๐ŸŒ Respect Festival - for bringing communities together through music, dance, food and conversation, showcasing the diversity that makes Exeter such a vibrant and welcoming city.

๐Ÿ“š Exeter City of Literature Book Market - for its fantastic line-up of independent booksellers, inspiring author talks, and book-themed sweet treats from The Cakery.

โœจ Reclaim Festival - for four days of bold, inspiring work celebrating women and creativity, from exciting scratch performances to the unforgettable Into the Pit by AK Golding.

๐Ÿง… Bruce Asbestos: Bootleg Shreg 2 - for proving that Exeter audiences will embrace the wonderfully weird, unexpected and brilliantly creative.

๐ŸŽจ The Magdalen Road Creative Street Festival - for bringing creativity out into the streets and transforming the city into a vibrant open-air gallery and performance space.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Art Car Boot Fair - for filling Piazza Terracina with artists, makers, collectors and curious visitors, creating a buzzing atmosphere by the water.

These are just a few highlights of things that happened throughout the month.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised, attended, performed, created and supported events throughout June. Here's to another summer of discovering everything Exeter's creative scene has to offer.

Exciting news. Something new is coming!

Weโ€™re working with local street artist Szabotage to transform a well-known wall on New Bridge Street, creating a warm welcome as you head towards Fore Street. The piece will celebrate Exeterโ€™s heritage, bringing together icons and stories inspired by the West Quarter.

We look forward to sharing updates as the project progresses. Thanks to Bigwave Marketing who are helping us document this journey.
