Minor update to what I've been up to, after realising thier fan wasnt working I was given what should be a simple job of finding out why, I stripped the laptop which took about half an hour, took off the cooling assembly, meticulously cleaned the fan, reapplied thermal paste, put it all back together and thankfull it was just gunk clogging up the fan, its now working like a champ, but took about an hour, laptops suck to work on..
