Looking for the perfect weekend out? The East Budleigh Scarecrow Festival is back on June 13th & 14th, and Gilbert Stephens Solicitors is proud to be a sponsor again.

The village will be buzzing with activity across four different venues. Here is a sneak peek at what’s waiting for you:

Village Hall: Refreshments, entertainment, and plenty of treats.

Recreation Ground (Sunday): Bring your furry friends for the Dog Show!

The Vicarage Garden (Sunday): A must-see display of Classic Cars and Bikes.

All Saints Church: Church Tower visits (Saturday only!) and a beautiful knitting display.

It’s one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for our local community, and we are honoured to support such a wonderful tradition.

We are looking for passionate, detail-oriented individuals to fill the following roles:

Legal Secretary

The Role: Provide vital administrative and secretarial support to our fee earners (including audio/copy typing for Wills, LPAs, and probate documents), manage diaries, and welcome clients with a warm, empathetic manner.

Ideal Candidate: Previous secretarial experience in a legal or professional environment is highly advantageous. You’ll need excellent typing speeds, strong IT skills, and a proactive, team-player attitude.

Private Client Paralegals

The Role: Work alongside our experienced lawyers assisting with drafting Wills, LPAs, estate administration, and Court of Protection matters, while offering compassionate service to our clients.

Ideal Candidate: A law degree, CILEX, or relevant legal experience is preferred. We want "people persons" with an eagle eye for detail who are eager to grow and develop their careers within the firm.

The Vacancies
We have three positions available, two within out East Devon Hub in Ottery St Mary and one in Exeter.

The Role
Working alongside our experienced Private Client lawyers, you will provide vital support across a diverse and rewarding caseload, including:

Assisting with the drafting of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Supporting the administration of Estates and Trusts. Liaising with clients, providing a compassionate and professional service during often sensitive times. Assisting with Court of Protection matters and Elderly Client services.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who are organised, empathetic, and eager to learn.

Qualifications: A law degree, CILEX, or relevant legal experience is preferred.
