Please wear suitable clothing for riding

We know with the nice weather you want to stay cool but for your own comfort and safety in the saddle you will need to wear suitable clothing

Tops that cover your shoulders and torso
Full length trousers
Bring socks to wear inside riding boots

We will have to turn you away if you are not in suitable clothing

Our thoughts are with the family of long time customer and friend to the stables Paul Cummings who recently passed away.

Paul was one of the original riding school customers as a child when we first opened over 50 years ago. Since then he has ridden for Joyce at shows, brought his own children to learn to ride here and had his own horses stabled with us.

He will be missed by us all here at Oaklands

Congratulations to our Pony Club members 🎉🎉

Monday night saw our members take their Pony Club tests (a mix of D,D+ & C depending on level) and we are pleased to say they all passed!

Instructors Debbie and Jaz both said they were very proud of them all and it made the dark winter nights of lessons all worth it!

The pony club tests are a recognised qualification so the perfect starting point for any young equestrian.

On Friday we hosted a BHS South West Ride Safe Train the Trainer day at the stables.
This was training for instructors to keep their knowledge and skills up to date for teaching riding safely on the roads including as part of the BHS challenge awards.

Our very own Debbie, Helen, Elsie and Sarah completed the day with other instructors from the area.

Also a big thank you to our riders Amelia Lidia & Lydia.
