On Tuesday, Nick and Sam from CEDA were invited to the official reopening of the newly refurbished McDonald's restaurant at Stone Lane Retail Park, where they were presented with a £5,000 cheque and helped officially reopen the restaurant.

We've been lucky enough to work with David, the franchise owner of our local McDonald's restaurants, and his fantastic team for many years. During that time they've hosted regular VIP sessions for the children we support, backed many of our fundraising campaigns, and supported a range of projects across CEDA. We're so grateful for their continued partnership and generosity.

As for Sam, she got to tick something off her bucket list by collecting a giant cheque and cutting the ribbon with a pair of enormous ceremonial scissors! ✂️😁

A huge thank you to David and everyone at McDonald's for your continued support. It really does make a difference.

Yesterday, Louie Leighton, one of the children we support in our CEDA Youth Services, was invited to represent CEDA, at an incredible event hosted by The Royal Literary Fund in the Hundred Acre Wood, made famous by Winnie-the-Pooh!

The event was organised to celebrate Giles Brandreth's new book about the world-famous bear, and the connection to The Clare Milne Trust. For those who aren't aware, Clare Milne was the daughter of Christopher Robin and the granddaughter of A. A. Milne and attended our Activity Hub for many happy years, and her trust has supported us in many amazing ways over the years.

A highlight of the day for Louie was playing Pooh Sticks with Queen Camilla, where he bagged an impressive second place! And, as if meeting the Queen wasn't exciting enough, another highlight was meeting Dame Julia Donaldson and having his own copy of The Gruffalo signed.

Louie was an excellent ambassador for CEDA and represented us amazingly to everyone he met, so thankyou so much Louie!

And thanks also to Kevin Underwood, Chair of the Clare Milne Trust, whose friendship with Giles helped ensure that this wonderful invitation came our way.

A core memory well and truly made for Louie on what his dad described as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity".
