From 26 August 2025, the DVLA has simplified the rules around restorations, chassis swaps, and modifications. That means less red tape and more clarity,especially if you’re working on a Series or Defender.
âś… Like-for-like chassis replacements (including galvanised) can keep their original VIN.
âś… No need to notify DVLA for routine panel, suspension or axle work.
