Current life goal: raise enough money to officially name a shark… OINK. 🦈🐷
Because somewhere in the ocean there absolutely should be a shark swimming around with the world’s least intimidating name.
“Warning! OINK is approaching.”
Every piece from the collection helps support the incredible work at the Bimini Shark Lab — and gets us one step closer to making this dream a reality.
Imagine:
A beautiful shark
Important conservation work
Scientists having to professionally say the sentence:
“OINK was last detected near Bimini.”
Honestly? Worth it.
So if you’ve ever wanted to help sharks and contribute to slightly chaotic marine biology, now’s your chance.

Behind every incredible research project at the Bimini Biological Field Station Foundation are some truly amazing humans working tirelessly in the background — but if you know me, you’ll know it’s always all about the animals.
And I’ve been lucky enough to meet two very special members of the Shark Lab’s front-of-house team… the pawsome duo themselves: Dr Matt and Egg. 🐾
Whether they’re greeting visitors, supervising beach walks, boosting morale after long field days, or simply stealing the spotlight whenever a camera appears, these two have become much-loved ambassadors for the Lab.
Dr Matt (also lovingly known as Dr T***s) has long been part of the Shark Lab family, while Egg — the newest rescue pup recruit — has quickly settled into her important role of professional cuddle provider and beach-side chaos coordinator.
They may not be conducting shark research themselves… but they definitely keep spirits high while the humans do.
Dr. Matthew
Also known as Dr. T***s, this beloved rescue dog became the lab’s unofficial mascot after helping Dr. Matt during his PhD fieldwork. His specialties include beach patrols, shark spotting, ghost crab digging, and charming every visitor he meets. He proudly holds a “Dogtorate Degree.”
Captain Egg
Egg is the lab’s newest rescue pup and quickly became part of the family after being rescued in 2024. Described by the team as sweet, goofy, and occasionally “scrambled” at the beach, Egg is currently training for her future role as Captain while supervising cuddles and morale.
