How can we stop the rise of big cars?

Today before 12pm is the last opportunity to support our fundraising appeal to tackle SUVs in our cities:

This is an exciting fundraiser as Big Give matches every donation (a ÂŁ10 donation becomes ÂŁ22.50 including Gift Aid!).

🚨Launch Day🚨

Our Ending Big Car Bloat campaign kicks off today!

As part of Earth Raise 2026's Big Give Fund, we're raising funds to help to build support for policies that target SUV size and weight. Collaboration is key 🔑 and all donations go directly to creating workshops, briefings, social media campaigns, and local on-street polling to inform and communicate the appetite for traffic reduction, particularly for larger vehicles 👫

Over the next week of fundraising, we'll be sharing our Top Six reasons why SUVs are not only an inconvenience on our roads, but also dangerous to our health, our economy and the well-being of the planet 🌎

Head over to our campaign page for full details on the campaign, where the money is going, and how to donate and share 🤝

During this period every donation is DOUBLED - so your donation will really make a difference! https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS00000CnMuvYAF

Please consider sharing and donating đź’š
Happy Earth Day everyone!

Big Give Campaign Day 5!
As part of the BigGive campaign, we are raising funds to End Scotland’s Big Car Bloat 🚗!

And it’s time for another fact about SUVs' harmful impact.

Did you know...
When SUVs hit cyclists, the injuries are significantly more severe — with head injuries around 63% worse than those caused by standard cars.
Their size and shape mean impacts are more dangerous and more likely to cause serious harm.
👉 SUVs aren’t just inconvenient — they increase the risk and severity of road collisions.

Our campaign is prioritising the safety of cyclists, children and vulnerable road users, putting their needs before SUV production. And we need YOUR help!

Head over to the campaign page here:

and please consider sharing and donating đź’š

Every donation is doubled, meaning that even the smallest contribution can make a big difference 🤝.
Get involved, share, donate, and help us reclaim urban spaces for people, public transport, and active travel đź‘«!

Big Give Campaign Day 2!

As part of the campaign, Transform Scotland is raising funds to End Scotland’s Big Car Bloat 🚗!

SUVs pose a real threat to the safety of children, pedestrians and cyclists, and our campaign aims to improve policies. And with the help of Big Give, every donation we receive will be doubled!
https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS00000CnMuvYAF

Did you know…
In a crash, a vehicle moving faster or with greater mass will exert a greater force than a smaller, slower vehicle, meaning SUVs exert a larger force on impact compared to lower-weight cars travelling at the same speed.

A study of reported vehicle crashes involving cyclists showed that:
• SUVs inflicted significantly more severe injuries on struck cyclists compared with cars
• The typical head injury inflicted by SUVs was 63% more severe than that inflicted by cars
• SUV collisions are more likely to involve cyclists being injured than passenger cars.

Our bottom line: the enlargement of vehicles enlarges the negative upstream social and environmental externalities of production. This is why our campaign needs your help!

We want to help build support for policies that target SUV size, prioritising people and ensuring safer streets đź‘«.

Please consider sharing and donating - remember, every donation is doubled 🤝 and goes a long way to support traffic reduction and our health.
