Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day. The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone thinking, talking, and learning about digital access and inclusion.

There are common mistakes that websites, workplaces and digital spaces make:
- Low Contrast Text
- Missing Image Alt Text
- Empty Links
- Missing Form Input Labels

This is part of a wider conversation about equal opportunity and fair treatment. Fair treatment in work through inclusive technology. Equal opportunity by removing digital barriers.

These are just some of the issues that need to be addressed within the modern workplace for real inclusive employment.

Our Midlothian team got together last week to look back on the past 12 months of work and the impact they made.

Employment Advisors Karen, Isla, and Bridget shared meaningful stories and experiences from their work throughout the year, illustrating the value of the support they provided.

Isla Said: “I’m delighted with what we’ve achieved in Midlothian in such a short time. Bridget, Karen and I have worked incredibly hard, and while I’m sad to be leaving the Midlothian team, I’m excited to continue supporting the amazing work Into Work does across Edinburgh and the Lothians with the All in Edinburgh team.”

They helped over 70 disabled and neurodivergent people, as well as those with long-term health conditions, move forward in their employment journeys with confidence.
