6 Month Lean Bulk 📈 Week 1

Now it’s coach’s turn to add some size.

Will be posting weekly progress updates on this 24 week journey so follow and see how far I can take my physique.

As always drug free 🍃

Main Goal: To add as much lean tissue by April 2024 as possible.

Weekly Targets: 0.2kg weight gain per week would be ideal & healthy although I’m not overly fixated on the scales, I’m more interested in body recomposition.

I’ll be monitoring strength increases and aiming to break PRs.

Focal points: Traps, upper chest, back thickness & glutes.

Supplements: Whey protein, creatine + collagen.

Recent illnesses resulted in me dropping a lot of weight but I’m back to full health now, last week was really solid both in the gym and diet wise - very motivated heading into winter!

I actually haven’t bulked for over two years so the increase in calories is very welcome 🙌🏼

My leanness is already starting to go but as the old saying goes.. “if your abs are showin’ you ain’t growin”🤓

STOP BUYING SH*TTY COPY-PASTE PLANS 😩

I see this ALL the time.

Guys spending £50 or so on a crap cookie cutter program they bought from their favourite fitness influencer.

Don’t fall for this trap, here’s why it’s an awful idea:

1️⃣ IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU: These plans give a s**t about your individual starting point, body, or needs. It’s a one-size-fits-none approach.

2️⃣ IT’S LAZY MARKETING: Influencers push these plans because they’re easy money, not because they care about your gains.

3️⃣ SELLING DREAMS, NOT REALITY: They promise quick fixes and unreal results to sell their plans. In reality, sustainable progress takes time and effort.

4️⃣ ROIDED-UP ILLUSIONS 💉: Most of these influencers are juiced up but pretend they got jacked from their plan. You literally can’t compare.

5️⃣ YOUR GOALS MATTER 🎯: Your fitness journey should be tailored to your goals, not someone else's. These plans can derail your progress and leave you frustrated.

Remember, fitness is a personal journey.

Don't let cookie-cutter plans ruin your gains.

MY STORY:

Back then going to the beach or pool filled me with dread, I lacked the self esteem to take my shirt off. It was tough.

I really struggled to put on lean muscle.

Being naturally skinny made it an uphill battle.

You know, I was seemingly doing everything right. Training hard, eating well, following every workout plan and nutrition tip I found online. But despite all that effort, I just couldn’t put on the size I wanted. It was like I was stuck in this never-ending loop of frustration.

It took me years after started training to finally figure it out..

Here’s the secret I uncovered 📖

We’re all different.

What works for one person might not work for another. It’s not about following a random diet or workout plan you found online- it’s about factoring in your unique needs & goals.

I decided to join an online coaching program and the knowledge and guidance I gained from it was KEY to my transformation.

I learnt more in a few months than two years trying to figure it out myself, following generic advice online from roided up influencers 🤦🏻‍♂️

I started to finally see big changes. My weight grew, clothes fitted way better, was confident taking my top off. I finally felt good in my own skin.

Find what works, stick to it, put in the reps. The results will come.

Midweek reminder: We all started somewhere.

remember I used to avoid going to the beach or pool at all costs.

All my friends would be out enjoying the sun and I’d be inside roasting, just to avoid showing my body.

The first photo is actually after about 6 months of weight training where I finally started to feel more confident about my body.

The reason I used that photo is because I have no body shots of me before that - why would I? I was embarrassed to go topless because of how skinny I was.

Once I started seeing physical changes to my physique my mindset changed completely. I was proud to show off my hard work and my confidence shot up.

Sure I always wished I was 10 steps ahead, but I also knew I was on track to hitting my goals and that the journey would give me so much purpose and confidence.

We all start somewhere…just fu***ng start.
