Race report!

Race 1: 1st
Race 2: 3rd
Race 3: 1st
Race 4: 1st

Had a successful weekend at Knockhill. Decided not to do the practice on Friday due to the conditions then one of the bikes didn’t make it to scrutineering so I ended up on the red bike for the whole weekend. Turns out this was for the best as I finished first in qualifying.

Race 1 went smoothly. Reached a new personal best with a 52.7 second lap and won the race by almost 8 seconds.

Race 2 however wasn’t so smooth. It was pouring rain and although I crossed the line second, I got a penalty for jump starting which landed me in third.
Some good racing with Alan McGregor and Jon Paul Adie in this one!

Race 3 and 4 on Sunday went smoothly, leading both races start to finish. Great way to finish the weekend!

Big thanks to Shirlaw's Ltd for the new RST suit, much appreciated as always. Also big thanks to Chris Clements for providing the parts for the blue bike and another thanks to our suspension helpline, Kenny and Mike Robb.

Race update!

Race 1: 1st
Race 2: 1st
Race 3: 1st
Race 4: 1st

Tom Dickie meet went well! Can’t ask for any better than that

Qualifying went well! Set the tone for the weekend with a first.

First 3 races all ran very smoothly! Came first in each race and had a fair gap in them all. Was happy with the result.

Race 4 we decided it was time for new tyres. In the first lap, when coming out of the hairpin, the tyres were still a bit new which lead to a near high side. I regained first position and ended up winning that race too.

Big thanks to Shirlaw's Ltd for the helmet! The support is much appreciated. Also a big thanks to Kenny and Mike Robb for their suspension helpline 😂

Race update!!

Race 1: 1st
Race 2: cancelled
Race 3: 2nd
Race 4: 2nd

Some good racing at East Fortune this weekend past. Started off qualifying first which set me up for the next races nicely.

Had a good start in race 1. Stayed in second until lap 6 until I made a move into Esses one and then ended up winning by 6 seconds.

Sunday morning started with race 3 after race 2 was cancelled. Had some good battles with Lewis Patterson throughout and ended up in second place in the last lap.

Yet more battles in race 4, when I managed to end the race in 2nd. Overall happy with the results!

I’d like to say a big thanks to Kenny and Mike Robb for helping set up the suspension over the phone. And as usual massive thanks to all the support from the sponsors.

Race Update!!

Race 1: 7th
Race 2: 1st
Race 3: 1st
Race 4: 3rd

Well that was a good start to the season!

Qualifying 10th wasn’t the plan, but in the first race, I climbed from 10th to 3rd before the race was red flagged. A few complications led to changing bike, and then finishing in 7th after rejoining from the pit lane.

I started to pick up the pace in the 2nd race of the day. I went from 7th in the grid to 2nd by lap 2, then in lap 5 made a move at the hairpin that secured first place and also did the fastest lap of the weekend which was 53.8 seconds.

On Sunday morning the track was still damp, but we decided to stick with dry tyres. This paid off as I came first in this race too. It was great to know that both bikes are running well!

The last race of the weekend wasn’t quite as smooth. I started off with a good lead and then the rain came on. After the race got red flagged, we had a quick tyre change then set off to continue the race. Between wheel spins on the start line and close calls at McIntyre, I ended up in third place.

Happy with the overall results! Onwards and upwards from here. Thanks Ade Rix and Blair McCaul for saving the blue bikes engine, and thanks to 2 Wheels Developments for tuning the engine in the red bike. Also, a massive thanks to our newest sponsor, Shirlaws Motorcycles for the support.

Big thanks to Jimmy Fearn from Nicolls Autoshop in Montrose, Ade Rix for replacing the gear box and Two Wheels Developments for refreshing the engines.

Also thanks to Kenny for the fairings on the dry bike! Let’s hope they don’t get sent down a road this year 😂

Race report from rounds 15 and 16 knockhill🏁

Race 1: p5
Race 2: p3
Race 3: p2
Race 4: DNS

The weekend started off with 100mph winds and no sleep. The championship points had already been decided, so the pressure was off. We were grateful of this due to the conditions. It was cold, windy and generally dodgy weather for racing.

After qualifying 7th I was on the back foot straight from the get go. In the first race I had a good battle with Dougie Prentice and came 5th, meaning I started 5th on the grid in the second race and finished 3rd which was better!

Going into the third race on Sunday, the weather was a bit better meaning I could push more and came from 7th on the grid to 1st by the 3rd lap. I lead the race up until about the 8th lap when Harry Pullar got me into clarkes and we ended up coming 2nd.

In the fourth race it started raining on the warm up lap and I was on slicks, since there was nothing really to be gained points wise I decided to pull in and save wrecking the bike in the last race of the season for no reason.

All said and done we came away with,
2nd place in the Scottish championship
2nd place in the knockhill championship
1st place in the Eastfortune championship
1st place in the Eastfortune open championship

I’d first off like to say a massive thank you to the old man and his best mate Tony for making this happen, could not of done it without you!
I’d also like to thank Kenny and Mike Robb for the great job on the fairings and suspension set up, Abby Christie (AC3 MEDIA)for the photos and Facebook posts, Weir Bike Sport for the photos and race reports, and thanks to 2 Wheel Developments for a great engine.
