On Thursday 9th October, 14 lucky Lennon fans joined us for an exclusive tour of John Lennon's childhood places, specially curated by Strawberry Field to commemorate his 85th birthday. Starting in town, the tour visited the maternity hospital where John was born, before arriving at Strawberry Field for a surprise unveiling of a Quarrymen banjo, once owned by Rod Davis and played by John Lennon and his mother Julia. Then, guests watched an incredible performance from The Quarrymen before enjoying lunch with original members Rod Davis, Colin Hanton and Good Ol' Freda. The tour then continued into Woolton village, where guests had the opportunity to explore inside St. Peter's Church and Mendips, the house where John Lennon grew up. The group were then taken on the very first tour of John Lennon's high school, Calderstone's School (formerly Quarry Bank High). Thank you to all who joined us on this special tour. We were delighted to celebrate the life and legacy of John Lennon with you.
