2020 has been a tough year for everyone and the festive period for many will look very different and the impacts of this can be massive on our mental health and wellbeing. Below are some additional supports available throughout Scotland and the picture shows some festive messaging as well as a QR code for the North East Su***de Prevention App.

•Call 111 to talk to NHS 24’s mental health hub
•Call 0800 83 85 87 to talk to Breathing Space. The service is open 24 hours at weekends (6pm Friday - 6am Monday) and 6pm to 2am on weekdays (Monday - Thursday).
•Text “SHOUT” to 85258 to contact the Shout Crisis Text Line, text “YM” if you are under 19.

A reminder during these times, when a number of us are living more remotely and potentially feeling more isolated is that there is an award winning su***de prevention App and website available for the North East.

‘Prevent Su***de’ is available to download free of charge in the App Store, Google Play and other App stores. It offers useful support for both those living with thoughts of su***de and for people supporting someone with thoughts of su***de.

On the app (also available as a website - http://www.preventsu***deapp.com/ ) you can find information on su***de including myths and facts, information on how to support others and have a conversation about su***de, local and national supports, including appropriate supports if you feel urgent help is required and there is also space to develop a safety plan.

I’d encourage you to download and explore the app as you may find it a useful resource.
