Today we are celebrating Argyll Rising: 2040 by BRM Stewart
Genre: Thriller | Suspense | Political Thriller
Pages: 329

A future Scotland - independent, but not free. Economic support came from China, but with that came erosion of freedoms, and the disappearance of people who objected to what was going on.

So a resistance network was formed, with some very smart people working to tell the world what was really happening, and they had a plan to expose the corruption and lies. Unfortunately the anti-terrorist force - PSAT - also had some very smart people, one of whom was very good at second-guessing what the network might do.

Harry Campbell was a retired, divorced headteacher, quietly working part time with the Scottish educational establishment. His only ambition was to escape from Scotland, to Canada, to join his daughter and enjoy his sunset years. But the network needed someone like him, and he agreed to help them - after all, what was the worst that could happen?

He was about to find out.

Author bio
Having retired from education, I'm focused on my writing.
My wife and I enjoy travelling, and I’ve documented our major trips in a travel blog. Basically we’ve been from North Cape to the Antarctic Peninsula, and from Vancouver to Japan, and down to New Zealand.
When not writing, I try to keep fit and try to play the guitar and golf (not simultaneously). I am a member of Rotary, an international membership and service community with 1.2 million members across most countries of the world, and served as District Governor for Scotland North in 2024-25. I'm also a member of Angus Writers' Circle, a really inspiring and supportive bunch.
My most recent novel is Argyll Rising: 2024 and was born from a fascination with the wartime French resistance. If my country was invaded, what role would I play?
