A double class win for both crews at the Grampian Forest Rally!
Robbie Wood & Simon Mills headed to the Grampian Forest Rally in search of both more seat time and more points in the Scottish Rally Championship Junior Driver Champion title chase. The event began with two stages on the Friday night, and after the opening 11-miles the MG3 crew held 8.7s advantage over fellow MG3 driver Rian Walker. Saturday morning began with three more fastest class stage times before first Service, followed by three of the same over the middle loop in the Grampian classics of Drumtochty, Fetteresso and Durris to return to Service after SS8 with a 50s class lead. With the stage conditions in the double used stages deteriorating, they picked their way through SS9/10 to return to the finish with a 48s class win and with that taking vital points towards the Scottish Rally Championship Junior Driver and Class C1 titles with top points in both. ๐ฅ The TripleM Rally hire MG3 performed faultlessly on the day, but took a bit of a battering underneath from the hard stages, so will need an intensive check over before Round 6 of the MG3 Rally Challenge next month.
Mark McCulloch & Michael Hendry struggled for pace on the opening two stages on Friday night, finding the stages very slippy/dusty with the recent spell of dry weather. Something just wasnโt clicking and back in Service the team found a badly bent and broken bottom arm which had taken a big hit from a rock in the early stages. ๐ A late night was to follow with the repairs needed to continue for Day 2, but the lads got it done and then off to bed for a few hours rest. (๐) A big shout out to David Coutts at DCM (๐คฉ) for sleeving and welding our bottom arm to allow us to continue, and everyone who offered help to find us a solution. ๐๐ป Saturday was a more enjoyable day, and once a few changes were made they started to push on and set some decent stage times, more in line with where they would liked to have been from the start of the rally! By this time both David & Kirsty and Scott & Peredur were well ahead, and all Mark & Michael could do was try and keep out of trouble and secure a 3rd place finish in the SRC, and first in Class M7, which was a great result for everyoneโs efforts. ๐๐ฅ This event was really tough on the car, crew and team but as always we didnโt want to give in easily! Thanks as always to everyone who helps and supports the team. ๐

Day 2 of the Argyll Rally in the Cowal Peninsula was just as good as Day 1, with a couple of new stages this year for us all to enjoy.
We felt we really couldn't get any more from the TripleM Rally Proton Satria EVO (and we were having a good few moments which suggested that assumption was correct! ๐
) The Rally2 cars of Rory & Jamie and Hugh & Dick had the pace on us during Saturday's stages, but we came away from a really enjoyable event having set Top 5 stages times on all 16 stages, and are pleased with our overall performance! ๐
Thanks to Michael and the TripleM Rally Team for a great job as usual ๐ ๏ธ, and to Andrew Wood (Andrew Wood Motorsport) for helping us make the perfect tyre choice all weekend. ๐
We now provisionally lead the Scottish Rally Championship as the series heads back on to gravel, but with some exciting plans in the pipeline for later in the year, we are yet to decide how many more SRC rounds we can complete this year. ๐ More news to come.

Our fleet of TripleM Rally MG3 Rally Challenge cars are ready to go for Sunday's Beatson's Building Supplies Jim Clark Rally!
This time last week, we didn't have any MG3s taking part - so it's been a quick turnaround to have the cars ready for our crews John & John (car 76) and Euan & Michael (car 139). Good Luck all.
