In 1928, Hub van Doorne started his own business: the ‘Hub van Doorne Engineering Works and Repair Shop’, and four years later, following a decision to concentrate on the production of trailers and semi-trailers, this became ‘Van Doorne’s Aanhangwagenfabriek N.V.’, or D.A.F. for short.

Today, DAF is a global technology leader that provides sustainable transport solutions to drive customer success. There are now thousands of colleagues within the DAF and wider PACCAR family – each proud of our heritage and wholly dedicated to providing the transport of the future.
