charity feeds a family for a day.
a livelihood feeds them for life.

this is a bike. with a stall on the back of it.

it's not a handout. it's a business. a father in pakistan who used to beg now sells from this every morning, and goes home every night with money he earned himself.

that's the dignity charity rarely gives.

our team is in pakistan right now, handing these out to families who don't want sympathy, they want a way to stand on their own feet again.

every meal his kids eat for the rest of their lives traces back to one donor who chose to build instead of feed.

that's sadaqah jariyah in motion. literally.

eid mubarak.

today is called the festival of sacrifice.
not the festival of food.
not the festival of new clothes.
not the festival of eidi.

sacrifice.

ibrahim (as) was asked to give up the thing he loved most. he said yes before he understood why.

and we on the day named after that moment, what are we sacrificing?

a couple of hours of sleep for fajr.
maybe.

eid isn't the end of ibadah. it's the test of whether the last ten days changed you.

if dhul hijjah meant anything to you, today is where you prove it. not with another selfie. with sadaqah given quietly while everyone else is eating.

the prophet ﷺ said the most beloved deeds to allah are the consistent ones. eid is the day most people stop. be one of the ones who doesn't.
