People often imagine that selling art online feels distant.
But behind every order is a person, a story, and sometimes a memory that means the world to someone.
Recently, a lovely customer contacted me looking for something in memory of her mum, who loved poppies and whose favourite colour was pink.
She chose this watercolour painting of pink poppies in a hand painted pink frame.
A few days later, she sent me the message shared in this carousel.
Moments like these remind me why I do what I do.
Flowers have an extraordinary way of holding meaning. They can remind us of people we love, special places, treasured memories, or important moments in our lives.
And when one of my paintings becomes part of that story, it feels like a real privilege.
I’d love to know - Is there a flower that always makes you think of someone special? 🌼🌺🌸

Every summer I find myself stopping for poppies.
Standing tall amongst grasses and wildflowers, they somehow manage to be both delicate and bold all at the same time.
Their scarlet petals never seem to compete for attention. They always catch my eye ❤️
This little watercolour began with a walk, a wild poppy and a moment of sunshine.
The sort of moment that makes you stop and look a little closer.
Do wild poppies grow near you?
I’ve noticed something changing as I’ve got older ✨
I used to rush past so many things.
Now I find myself stopping for tiny moments that would once have gone unnoticed - the way sunlight moves through leaves, wildflowers appearing where nobody expected them, the sea catching the light, if only just for a few seconds.
Those small moments often become the inspiration behind my paintings.
I’m curious…
What’s a simple everyday thing you’ve noticed recently that made you stop and appreciate it for a moment?
Save this for a moment of calm when you need it and follow for more nature-inspired artwork and home decor 🌿
Thank you, Sam 💗xx
Ever wondered why a leafy path to a gate feels like stepping into a fairy tale? ✨
The older I get, the more I seem to appreciate sights like this.
Captured during our walk around Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire. The buttercups giving the fields a golden glow with the red clover, like jewels, nestled amongst them. Lovely!
It’s exactly this feeling that I return to again and again in my artwork.
This little watercolour painting of wild red clover on a bookmark, with lucky four-leaves and a gold-coloured gilded boarder, was inspired by memories of just this! 🍀✨
Are you loving the buttercup covered fields and parkland that we’ve got at the moment too? 😍🌼
