Yesterday we held our Afternoon Reception at The Great Yorkshire Show to say thank you for the support of everyone involved with and connected to FCN.
We welcomed over 70 people to the event, kindly hosted by Morrisons who provided delicious steak sandwiches and strawberries & cream. Thank you to their whole team for their kind words and excellent hospitality.
Many thanks also to our event sponsors - Craggs Energy, a fantastic new corporate partner, and TL Dallas & Co Ltd, who continue to show generosity to the charity and full backing to the farming industry.
FCN CEO, Jude McCann, spoke about the tireless commitment and hard work of our volunteers, who he described as the 'absolute lifeblood' of our organisation, and his pride in which the way FCN has grown and yet retained its grass roots approach in the services we offer to farmers and farming families.
Two years ago, at the same show, we celebrated the launch of our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support with our Northern region friends and colleagues, and Jude commented on the growing and positive impact the partnership's campaign continues to generate.
FCN's Head of Partnerships, Georgina Lamb, went on to update the guests on activity in the North, and to thank our corporate partners, many of whom travelled a long way to spend the day with us, and who play a key role 'as a very valued extension of our services':

Next week at The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society Show (20th - 23rd July) we will be launching our new bilingual guide designed to support farming families affected by cancer.
'𝐀 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫' has been produced as part of the Rural Communities Cancer Project - FCN’s UK-wide partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to improve cancer awareness and reduce inequalities experienced by people living and working in rural communities.
Created specifically with the realities of farming life in mind and developed by farmers with lived experience of cancer, the guide offers practical information to help individuals and families manage the impact of a cancer diagnosis while continuing to navigate the demands of farming and rural life.
It includes guidance on accessing support, balancing treatment with farming responsibilities, and signposting to organisations that can help.
Visitors are invited to call at 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟕𝟔𝟖-𝐂𝐀𝐓 throughout the show to pick up a copy of the new guide and to learn more about FCN Cymru's work supporting farming families.
