Week 2 Bowls of Goodness
The class was asked to choose a bowl from a selection containing a variety of objects. Then they were set the task of constructing a still life containing these objects. they could discard any they didn't want but the still life must include the bowl. we looked at other artists work and discussed what would make a successful composition. Some great ideas and ex*****on here.

Week 2 Charcoal
Continuing on the mining theme, it seemed appropriate to use charcoal to create these pictures drawn from old photographs of miners. The class looked at the artwork of Tom McGuiness and Peter Howson for inspiration. The class handled the tricky medium really well. Each artist has their own unique style which they have expressed to produce artworks full of character and grit.
