I have to say a big thank you to all of those who came over to UK during the Windrush era. Who have faced and stood up to a lot of oppression and even today are still suffering injustices from the disgraceful actions of the government.

I have to say thank you for your strength and perseverance. for helping to rebuild the the "Motherland" and bringing your children into a world where opportunities meant that their lives would prosper from your hard work.

Thinking and thanking you all on this Windrush Day.

Antigua and Barbuda is an independent Commonwealth country comprising of its 2 namesake islands and several smaller ones.

I am on a journey of discovery. I am not just looking for my recent ancestors in the Caribbean, USA and Europe but also my ancestors in Africa.

In my quest to gain a deeper understanding of my own heritage, I underwent two DNA tests. One test was conducted to identify living relatives, while the other aimed to trace the origins of my ancestors. The findings yielded fascinating and insightful results, shedding light on my genetic lineage and familial connections.

The first test revealed to me that my ancestry went further East in Africa even naming the tribe (peoples) that I am associated with, Luhya, Kenya. The second test I took led me to find my paternal family and a curve ball. People from a part of the USA who have no known link to my family. But DNA does not lie! Could it be Tribal?

I am now on a quest to find out how we are matched. I will update my findings

I love DNA! Taking a test or two has helped me to connect with my father's family.

I Hate DNA! I now have more questions than answers! Did my 4x Great Grandparents families get separated when they were stolen from Africa with some being sent to the Caribbean and others being sent to America?

I have so many matches from Alabama and Louisiana that make no sense to me. My Caribbean ancestors went to places like NY, Florida, Canada or UK.

I now have a massive research task. I love it!
