CAFO Rescue

Well... Sandra went back to Morrisons, and we think they must have had an offer on kittens! 😂

Joking apart, it turns out there were actually two kittens, and they look absolutely identical.

When the first kitten was trapped, the whole area was searched thoroughly for a mum or any other kittens, but there was no sign of them. One kitten had previously been spotted on the wheel arch of a car in a lady's garden before disappearing, so we naturally presumed that was the kitten we'd caught.

Then yesterday, the lady contacted us to say there was another kitten in her garden. Another trap was set, and Sandra went back to collect the little one. Seeing them together, it's easy to understand why we thought they were the same kitten—they are virtually identical!

We've since had a possible lead as to where they came from. The lady has builders working at her property, and next to where the builders is working is a farm with a large number of feral cats and kittens. We believe these two little ones may have wandered from there into the van or in the engine.

We're now in discussions with the builder to see if we can help by trapping, neutering and returning (TNR) the feral cats, as well as help the kittens

For now, both kittens are safe together in a large crate. They're understandably very frightened and extremely hissy, so they'll need plenty of time, patience and gentle socialisation. Knowing Sandra, we're sure she'll work her magic with them.

A massive thank you once again to Sandra and all the local residents who kept a close eye on the kittens, contacted us, and helped make sure they were brought to safety. Without the community looking out for them, these two little ones may never have been found. ❤️

🎉 Amazing news for our little Mumbles! 🐾❤️

Mumbles went to his forever home yesterday, and we're delighted to say he settled in straight away. He's such a confident, energetic little kitten, and we think he's going to keep his new owners on their toes! 😹

He's also joined another CAFO Rescue cat that his new family previously adopted, so he'll have a lovely feline friend to share his new life with.

Nothing ever seems to faze this little boy, and we know he's found the perfect forever home where he'll be loved and cherished.

A massive thank you to Catherine and Xan, who gave Mumbles the start in foster care, and to Sandra, who continued to care for him as he grew into the confident little kitten he is today. We couldn't do what we do without our amazing fosterers. ❤️

Here's an update on the kitten from the Morrisons car park.

Thanks to an amazing community effort, and the dedication of Sandra Edwards who spent yesterday and Tracy Eastham today patiently trying to trap the kitten, we finally have some fantastic news...

The kitten is safe! 🥰

The trap was set in a nearby garden, and this evening the little one finally went in. They are now safe and settled in a large crate, where they can rest and begin their journey to a better life.

A huge thank you to Jess, Maureen, Kelly, and all of the wonderful neighbours who helped make this rescue possible. Your support and kindness made all the difference.

And an extra special thank you to Sandra and Tracy for your tireless hard work, patience, and determination. Without your commitment, this rescue wouldn't have been possible.
