Because as soon as you stop you regain right? But if you track you lose?

Imagine not just stopping and actually learning how to track less and keep the weight off

It’s what I teach all my clients to do, and it’s why they keep the weight off

I’m not anti calorie tracking.

I’m anti-use calorie tracking beyond its worthwhile use and continue to use it as a trap that makes you feel in control when you’re really not and can’t trust yourself

I use calorie tracking with all my clients, the difference?

I aim to get you off them and show you how with my strategies

Because life is for living

Counting should be temporary

Because if youre looking for the next protein cake, protein ball, protein whatever

You’re probably the person wondering why they have no calories at the end of the day, find it hard to eat 100g of protein in a day and you’re always hungry

Because protein labelled foods aren’t high in protein. Only a few are.

They usually have too many calories for the protein they provide also.

And this is something I see so frequently…

You’ll sub in the “healthier snacks” because it feels like you should

You eat one or two of them

And then still want the chocolate anyway

And end up having that as well

So rather than having the chocolate bar you wanted all along, you’ve now eaten more and then still had it

Get your protein from foods that don’t claim they’re high in protein e.g. meats, 0% yoghurt and other dairy

Keep your treats as the treat you actually want, not some weird s**t tasting alternative

Last week I took an unplanned week off from social media

And if I’m honest settling back in today hasn’t been easy

I also didn’t go to the gym like I normally would

And I’ll be the first to admit, me of years past would’ve ripped myself a new one

I would’ve said how I’m lazy, I don’t want it enough, I’m a failure, I’m useless

Genuinely the way I would speak to myself was appalling but it was normal, and I accepted it

But all that s**t talking did was cripple me mentally which would then stop me physically

It meant I would be snappier constantly as I was always angry

It meant I would be unmotivated and just vacant minded as I felt like I could never make any progress

It meant I carried so much weight every day and I felt trapped to hold it forever

But the reality is, I was trying to achieve “BALANCE” when balance isn’t about doing everything

It’s about prioritising what needs your energy now.

Last week?

Socials could wait.

I’m not gonna lose a customer for one miss week

I still looked after my clients

I took more time to journal, process and care for my mind because if I didn’t I would’ve exploded

And that’s what true balance is.

It’s about caring about you.

Because when you need a bit of time to reset, that’s okay

But you need a plan to get back into everything as well

Rather than just waiting around

Because that’s just as important for self care.

But the one thing you need to stop doing? Forcing yourself to “deal with it”, “it’ll be okay”, “I’ll be fine”.

Because that only leads to burnout and burnout leads to you falling off the wagon for longer

If you had intervened sooner, you wouldn’t be suffering as much as you were when you burned out

So next time you shame yourself for taking it easier one week, remember to look at the bigger picture
