The Rockinghorse Kindergarten Coventry

The seaside came to life through this lovely hands-on sensory activity.

The children explored natural and sensory materials, using shells, rice and sea creatures to build curiosity and imagination. As they played, they were encouraged to use new words such as shell, starfish, sea, fish, smooth and rough, while responding to simple questions and sharing what they could see and feel.

This activity supported early language, fine motor skills and sensory exploration in a fun and meaningful way.

Our children enjoyed a wonderful sensory animal activity, exploring different textures through gloop while learning about a variety of animals.

As they played, the children were encouraged to name the animals, recognise the sounds they make and talk about what they could see. This hands-on experience supported their language skills, sensory development and understanding of the world around them.
