🏃‍♂️🌺 TSC London Marathon 2027 🌺🏃‍♂️

Everyone at RBL Cookstown Branch would like to wish our Branch member, Mr Brian McComb, all the very as he prepares to take on the London Marathon 2027 in support of the Royal British Legion.

Taking on 26.2 miles is an incredible challenge, and by doing so to raise funds for the Legion, they are helping to ensure that veterans, serving personnel, and their families continue to receive the lifelong support they deserve.

We are immensely proud to have one of our own representing Cookstown with such dedication, determination, and commitment to the Legion's values of Service Not Self.

Please join us in wishing Brian every success and, if you can, consider supporting this fantastic fundraising effort. Every donation, no matter the size, will help make a real difference.

What a truly fantastic day we had at The Glorious Twelfth of July celebrations in Cookstown 🇬🇧🪗🥁🎶

A heartfelt thank you goes to each and every one of our amazing volunteers who gave their time, enthusiasm and dedication throughout the day. Your hard work, warm smiles and welcoming approach made a real difference.

A very special word of thanks goes to our Chairman, Mrs Lisea Greer, whose leadership, commitment and tireless work preparing our stall and work throughout the day inspired us all. She truly led by example, demonstrating the very values of the Royal British Legion Women's Section.

It was wonderful to meet so many people from our local community and visitors from further afield. Thanks to everyone's efforts, many more people now know about RBL Cookstown Women's Section, what we stand for, and how we support remembrance, veterans, our community and one another.

It was a real team effort, and every member should be immensely proud of what we achieved together.

Service Not Self is more than just a motto—it is something our members demonstrated throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to chat with us, and we look forward to welcoming new faces to RBL Cookstown Women's Section in the future.

🌺 RBL Cookstown Branch at the RBL Ireland Annual Somme Ceremony of Remembrance 🌺

On Saturday 11 July members of RBL Cookstown Branch were honoured to attend the RBL Ireland Annual Somme Ceremony of Remembrance at the Irish National War Memorial Gardens, Islandbridge, Dublin.

It was a privilege to join Royal British Legion members from across Ireland in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice, particularly the brave men who fought at the Battle of the Somme and all those who served during the World Wars.

We are especially proud of our own Branch members who carried out ceremonial duties to the very highest standard:

🌺 Mr Norman Espie BEM, National Parade Marshal, who led the parade with the professionalism and dignity for which he is so highly respected.

🌺 Miss Ellie Parke, National Standard Bearer, who once again represented the Royal British Legion with exceptional pride, precision and dedication.

🌺 Miss Rebecca Bell, RBL Cookstown Women's Section Standard Bearer, who carried our Women's Section Standard with great distinction, demonstrating the high standards of ceremonial excellence for which our Branch is renowned.

🌺 Miss Molly Robinson, our Northern Ireland Youth Standard Bearer and our Youth Branch member who proudly represented the future of remembrance with maturity, confidence and dedication. Molly continues to be an outstanding ambassador for young people within the Royal British Legion, and we are immensely proud of her achievements.

Your commitment, dedication and exemplary service are a credit to RBL Cookstown Branch, the Cookstown Women's Section, and the Royal British Legion family.

Thank you also to all our members and friends who travelled to Dublin to support this important annual act of remembrance. Your presence helped ensure that the sacrifices of those who gave their lives for our freedom will never be forgotten.

There is still time to join RBL Cookstown Branch as we travel by coach to the RBL Ireland Annual Somme Ceremony of Remembrance and Wreath Laying.

📍 Irish National War Memorial Gardens, Islandbridge, Dublin

This is a final reminder for members, family and friends who would like to attend this important annual act of remembrance.

🚌 Coach Details • Depart RBL Cookstown Club at 7.45am • Return to RBL Cookstown Club at approximately 5.00pm • £25 per person • Coach pick-up points can also be arranged in Dungannon and Armagh if required.

This prestigious ceremony, jointly organised by the Royal British Legion in Ireland and the Irish State, features a parade of Legion and Regimental Standards followed by a moving ecumenical service commemorating the Battle of the Somme and honouring all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Let's ensure RBL Cookstown Branch has a strong presence at this important annual act of remembrance.
