The real reason why I took over a 50 year old lighting business…

People often ask why I didn’t just start from scratch & my answer to this is that this wasn’t just a business opportunity, it was personal for me as well.

For years, I worked as the electrician for Clitheroe Lighting Centre, installing electrics for their customers who bought from them. I got to know Lee, who ran the family business after her parents and more importantly, I got to know the customers. The ones who’d been coming to them for decades and the ones who trusted the place.

When Lee decided it was time to sell up, I couldn’t shake one thought. This place had served the community for nearly 50 years, it couldn’t just become another empty shop on the high street.

So I took it on. Not to ‘replace’ what was there, but to carry it forward.

Here’s what I think is the best part too. Lee still works in the showroom. She’s the same friendly face our regulars have known for years, with the same expert knowledge & the same care. Just with a fresh vision behind it.

Some traditions are worth preserving. Especially when they’ve been built on real relationships & not just on transactions.

That’s what we’re about at the showroom, keeping the personal touch alive while delivering the premium service and expertise our customers deserve 🤍
