Do you sit at a desk all day? Struggling with lower back or neck and shoulder aches and pains? Maybe you're persistent headaches you struggle to shift?
As humans we are not evolutionarily designed to sit in chairs or stay stationary for long periods of time we are designed to MOVE!
Getting up from your desk even if it's for a minute or so just to walk about move or stretch could make a massive difference to your health. Breaking the work day up into regular intervals with movement might be all you need to alleviate some of those symptoms.
- You could set alarms on your phone every half hour or 45 minutes
- Put Postits around your desk to remind you to get up and move
- Maybe be the one to offer making the teas or coffees
- Go to have a face to face conversation rather than send an email
- You could try drinking more water which will mean you need to go to the toilet more frequently, whilst hydrating you at the same time a double win!
If you feel you might need more of a helping hand to get things moving again why not try osteopathy and see what other lifestyle tweaks could make a difference.

MJS Osteopathy is suitable for all patients, from young adolescents right through to geriatric patients. It doesn't matter if you are a couch potato or an elite level athlete we will develop a treatment plan that suits YOUR needs in order to help YOU get back to YOUR version of health, when your body has let you down.
Based in the heart of Clitheroe, York Street; we have excellent facilities on hand to produce the best results for you.
I have been diagnosing and treating patients using Osteopathic techniques for 11 years working in Osteopathic clinics throughout Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Whilst obtaining my masters degree from Leeds Metropolitan University I also gained qualifications in Kinesiology (sports) taping and Cranial Osteopathy. When writing my thesis I also developed a range of myofascial release techniques aimed at treating muscles as links in a chain. Since graduating I have further trained in the use of the Perrin technique as well as Shockwave Therapy.
