Let’s Talk “Solicitors..” 🏡

Can make or break the Homebuying Process..

They say in the UK the journey from offer being accepted to getting the keys on average takes 12 - 16 weeks or 3/4 months..

BUT a big factor will also be on the solicitors you use.

Sometimes Cheapest isn’t always best.

“Price is what you pay, value is what you get..”

If you are buying a home.. Personally look for what YOU need during the process.

You might be an experienced buyer and know how the process works and you might need very little communication.

Or you could be a First Time Buyer who doesn’t know anything and would like communication and clarification on things.

This would mean you’d need a solicitor that really looks to communicate with you.

Do your research or ask around about other people’s experiences.

Solicitors do have a difficult job, it’s not normally the solicitors fault if am honest (obviously some are bad like in every industry) -

Majority of the time it’s the way the firm is run. The firm typically will overload the Solicitor with cases some working on 100+ cases in one go with no assistance 👀 which is a joke.

Unfortunately the solicitors you speak to aren’t going to tell you “the company is run poorly” so you’ll have to find out yourself -

Look at reviews and also ask if the solicitor has an assistant that will keep you up to date. That’s a big one. It shows the firm Atleast are trying to make an effort on communication.

Quick Tip- Link the bio for The Homebuyers Helper Guide - you can tick off each stage of your solicitors process as you go along so you know what’s going on if the solicitors aren’t great at speaking to you. IT’S FREE..

Hope this helps
