ACTivate Workshops

Another week of ACTivate workshops draws to a close!

It’s been a fantastic few days and we’ve had a lot of fun. So much so that this wonderful student has put in a request to be excused from her family holiday over October half-term so that she can join our next holiday workshops!

The week for our older group culminated in their showing parents and siblings some of their work. There was huge excitement, anticipation and electricity and the sense of accomplishment that followed was palpable. It was fantastic to see these students walking out of the door with a spring in their step and celebrating their achievements together.

Finally, we were very lucky this week to be joined by the brilliant Ellie Parker (pictured on the next page). With Alex busy performing in Pretty Woman in London’s West End, Ellie stepped in to support our younger group during the latter half of this week. She has just completed her Masters degree at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and is clearly destined for great things. We look forward to working with her again in the future 🎈

Thank you to for hosting our Finding Your Voice workshop for Year 8 today. It was a joy to see a whole yeargroup working together, supporting one another and sharing in group reflection and feedback. They embraced our absolute favourite phrase - ‘put your head in the lion’s mouth’ 🦁

We wish them the best of luck with the rest of this year and beyond. They’re off to Bournemouth next week and we’re jealous… 🌊

We’ve loved working with these two brilliant groups this week. (In fact, we were having such a great time that we forgot to get a group photo of our older group!)

We took a big leap last year, moving from London in lockdown to build our lives and business up here. We’ve loved getting to know the wonderful families along the way so far and we’re starting to feel part of a really special community.

Thanks as always to parents for their continued support. Over the coming weeks and months as we all get back on our feet, we’ll be reaching out to make connections with local schools. If you think you might be able to help us in this area, please get in touch! 💕
