🩡 Early Learners:

We have thoroughly enjoyed reading Zog by Julia Donaldson this week as an introduction to our topic. 🐲 πŸ‘Έ
Zog is an ideal Early Years text because its rhyming, rhythmic structure aids language development, while themes of learning, resilience, and challenging stereotypes (Princess Pearl as a doctor) resonate with young children. The story supports curriculum areas like PSED, communication, and Understanding the World. The story explores themes of caring for others through Princess Pearl, friendship, and finding your own path, which aligns with our personal, social, and emotional development πŸ’•

The children have enjoyed playing and exploring in the doctor’s surgery πŸ₯Ό in the home corner, Fireman Sam πŸš’ and play tent, wooden Hospital o and Fire Station πŸ”₯ , fairyland themed tuff tray πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ , orange scented Zog playdough and fairy themed play area including the castle 🏰 and mud kitchen potions πŸ§ͺ

🩡 Preschool:
This week our topic was Emergency Services. πŸš’ πŸš‘ πŸš”
Teaching young children about emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) is crucial for safety and survival, as it empowers them to act calmly in crises, such as calling 999, providing their address, and identifying safe, trusted community helpers. πŸš’ πŸš‘ πŸš”
We have enjoyed exploring our Hospital role play area, investigated our fingerprints on the police sensory tray and played with our emergency vehicles outside.
We have enjoyed learning with lots of special visitors this week who have helped bring our learning to life, including a Paramedic and ambulance πŸš‘, fire officers and engine πŸš’πŸ”₯and a police officer. πŸš“πŸš¨

This week the children and their families in the Early Learners also enjoyed their Sports day and family picnic and the Preschoolers visited St Michael’s Court residential home to sing their summer songs and have a chat with the residents. πŸ₯°

Fussy eating is a stage that many children go through, and it can take time for children to accept new foods. Eating as a family and being a positive role model can help to encourage our children to eat a healthy and varied diet.

Fussy eating is one of the topics that we cover in our HENRY group.
The HENRY website also has lots of useful information.
