This is a concept outlined by Stephen King in his book On Writing and it’s about creativity, clarity and getting work done.

If you’re finding it difficult to settle down and focus then you might find this useful.

Mr King has a space for input (reading and thinking) and a different space for output (writing).

These don’t have to be separate rooms, you don’t need a mansion, it could be your kitchen table and the armchair in the corner. What matters is making them feel right for you.

If your surroundings are in a bit of a muddle right now, clearing these two spaces to help you feel peace and get productive could be the way forwards.
