Judo coaches and players say the sport is declining in popularity in place of more popular martial arts like MMA and Jiu Jitsu.  

They say they have noticed falling class numbers since cuts to sports funding overall.  

One Welsh athlete is even struggling to afford to compete in the 2026 Commonwealth Games and is turning to crowdfunding to help qualify.

“We are doing everything we can”: Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit says the squad is putting in a lot of effort ahead of their Six Nations game against Scotland on Saturday.

After two “tough weeks” where Wales suffered a 54-12 defeat to France last Sunday, Steve Tandy’s team is eager to improve their performance and “get fans out of their seats”.

There are around 3000 tickets still left for the game tomorrow at the Principality Stadium.

It’s Miwsig Cymru today and there will be events and gigs across Wales celebrating Welsh language music.
First launched in 2013, the day is dedicated to raising the profile of Welsh-language artists and encouraging wider audiences to discover their music.

Artists such as Mali Hâf, Tokomololo, and more will perform in Cardiff as part of the day to promote the future of Welsh music.
