Busch Tree Care

Name that tree. My first time up one of these and it's a monster! Clue; you will see these at the National Pinetum but not as big as this one.

Monday 22nd January. Big broad Beech tree bisecting two gardens in Blackheath. The brief: crown lift, selective thin and a three to four metre reduction across the whole canopy. The reason; to let more light into the two gardens. We are working in a strict conservation area on the Cator Estate so we had our work cut out to do justice to this big tree. No mobile elevated work platforms, just a very big climb. Notice the tree has no substantial wood in the centre for an anchor point. Also, it's slender form doesn't lend itself to supporting an arborist 3m from the canopy edge. It's going to be tough to produce that 'natural looking' reduction we always aspire to.
