With Admin now restored to normal, its time for us to announce our MVPs for our game at Hereford Stampede!

STMVP goes to DB Joe Collins! On a tough field, specials teams and field position were key! Joe was excellent on the day, key blocks on kick and punt returns, helping to sniff out a fake punt, it was his 3 kick off tackles that secured the MVP, each tackle stopping any Stampede momentum.

DMVP goes to, in an unusual move, the whole Defensive Line! The DL was an absolute menace all day against the Stampede. Racking up 8 sacks as a unit, multiple TFLs and applying constant pressure they were an unstoppable force. Sacks coming from Josh Sheppard, Scott Gay, Sam James (2 each), Simon Rooney & Kelcey Howell (1 each and the 1st for Kelcey).

OMVP goes to RB Fabio Jesus! Making his first start for the Apache, Fabs got the Tribe marching when, backed up inside our own 10, he broke right and unleashed a blistering 82 yard run for a TD! Not content he took another…much shorter hand off in for a TD in the 3rd quarter. Fabs finished the day with over 100 yards and 2 TDs!

Admin may have taken a well deserved break….or he forgot to post our MVPs from our last 2 games! Starting with our game vs South Wales Warriors!

STMVP goes to WR/R Harry Owen! In a back and forth game, Harry made some superb returns, showing great speed and hitting his gaps well. But for some last ditch tackles he would’ve taken at least 1 to the house!

DMVP goes to LB Alex Moorefield! Against a solid Warriors outfit, Morph was an absolute tackling machine. In hot, tough conditions against a heavy running attack, he threw himself at everything to help the D force key stops.

OMVP goes to TE Connor Day! With a lack of Oline, the TE stepped in and played superbly against an always tough Warriors front. Considering he was coming off injury also this makes Connors effort even better and he’s a worthy MVP!

Apache Win! The Tribe put in an excellent performance as they walked away from Hereford victorious.

After a scoreless 1st quarter where the defence laid their marker for the day, racking up sacks and TFLs, it wasnt until the 2nd quarter, where DB Hayden Lee picked off the Stampede QB and out paced the chasing players for a TD! Hereford answered back with a FG and had the Tribe pinned back from the KR. But they hadnt factored on RB, Fabio Jesus, making his 1st Apache start, to take the handoff 82 yards for a TD! Hereford answered with a TD of their own in the back of the endzone, but the Apache D held firm on the 2 point play…and this was the last time Hereford would visit the redzone! The Tribe were up 14-9 at the half!

The Apache came out flying in the 3rd quarter! After a good return set the Offence up, RB Fabio Jesus, running to his right grabbed his 2nd of the day. The RB finishing with 2 scores and over 100 yards on his first start. QB Fin Hughes now in the game found WR James Nyarko, who sprinted 30 yards to the house for both his and Hughes first Apache TD! From the resulting kick off an excellent tackle from DB Joe Collins kept the Stampede from big yards…and a few plays later it was LB Ben Cross, making a great INT plucking it out of the air and returning it 40 yards for another Apache pick 6!! K/LB James Baines now 5 for 5 on XPs.

The Apache D was in full flow now, DT Kelcey Howell smashing through for his first sack and immediately following it up with a massive TFL in a great series for the rookie. The DL was feasting all day, making sack after sack after Josh Sheppard(2), Sam James(2), Scott Gay(2) and Simon Rooney(1) made it 8 on the day for the big men up front and 10 on the day for the Apache.

The 4th quarter saw wholesale changes on all units, QB Hughes continuing under centre, supported by RBs Robbie Macgregor and Shaun Griffin. The Tribe threatened to add to the score, but a solid Hereford stand and a missed XP by Baines saw the game meander to a final score of Apache 35-9 Stampede.

The Tribe now look forward to their final game of the season, in what is promising to be a huge occasion against the Bobcats!

It’s game day 7 as The Tribe travel to Hereford to play the Stampede. All are welcome to support!!!
