SS Nomadic earned her place in history, transporting 172 First and Second Class passengers to RMS Titanic at Cherbourg.
Passengers and luggage were onboard Nomadic by 5pm, though Titanic had yet to arrive. It was another hour before her funnels were sighted, with the liner reaching Cherbourg at around 6.35pm.
At 8.10pm, Titanic departed for Queenstown (now Cobh), as Nomadic’s crew called out their farewells: “Goodbye, see you in fifteen days!”
