Oakley Mini Diggers Ltd

So it has for a long time been the norm for me to have 2 jobs. 1 being Oakley Mini Diggers and the other being Bakers Recovery. Well infact all my life I’ve never been a man with only 1 job, and up to the end of the lockdowns this was a balance I managed pretty well with hard work and lots of support from my awesome wife. But now as things have changed I find my time and energies need to be devoted to just 1.

21 years ago I started my digger hire business. It has been hard, but has worked well, and along the journey of building a solid customer base I have met some genuinely decent and equally hardworking people. The challenge of being self employed means the buck stops with you, for this I certainly take my hat off to those aforementioned customers, and all tradesmen and people out there that chose to be their own boss. There is no HR department for support. No pats on the back. No appraisals, you’re on ya own I’m afraid. For 21 years I have not had any summer foreign holidays, no sick days and worked mostly 6 days a week all year what ever weather or virus is in the air.

After a big long hard think I have decided that after Christmas I will become a 1 job man. I’m choosing to commit more to Bakers Recovery as the company is developing and it’s enjoyable being in a great team. Il also get a bit more time to get a few more jobs done at home and maybe a project or two. 🤞

So with a mix of emotions, December 15th 2023 will be the last day for Oakley Mini Diggers. Thanks to everyone for your steadfast custom and support over the years, it’s been a blast! Have a great 2024 💛🤘🍺 If ya van breaks down you know who to call lol! Onward and upward ! Ian.

Not bad start to the day!

It’s quite cool the thing that people leave on my diggers when hiring them. Jumpers seem to be most common along with other random clothing items 😳. Tape measures come in a close second which is handy! Got loads of them now! 📏. Fag boxes and drinks cans - you can keep them lol. Best so far was the wallet last year 💳 and today the dewalt drill ! 🤣 thanks Barry !!!
