🐹🐰 A little boarding reminder from the rescue team 🐰🐹

Firstly, thank you to everyone who supports our boarding service. Every booking helps us raise vital funds for the guinea pigs and rabbits in our care, and we truly appreciate it.
To help things run smoothly, we kindly ask all boarders to remember two important requirements:

🥕 Please arrive at your booked check-in and check-out time.
Our boarding team is made up entirely of volunteers, many of whom make a special trip to the rescue specifically for your appointment. Late arrivals, early arrivals, or missed appointments can have a significant impact on their time and on the smooth running of the rescue.

🌾 Please bring your pets' usual dry food/pellets.
Sudden changes in diet can upset sensitive tummies, particularly in guinea pigs and rabbits. Bringing their normal food helps us keep them happy, comfortable and healthy during their stay.

We know unexpected things can happen, and if you're running late or have a problem, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements.

We still have some limited availability for guinea pig / rabbit boarding! 🐰🐹

18 July - 7 August
18 August onwards
With a few 2-3 day pockets of space in between

All funds go directly towards the rescue. We have a long list of animals on our waitlist as well as animals waiting to be adopted and sanctuary animals. Funds raised from boarding are vital for vaccinations, medicines, spays & neuters, food, hutches, pellets, vet appointments and everything else. 💉 💊 🥬

We are fully insured and all animals get a free health check and nail trimming, and we do have grooming packages available also. Your small furries get special 1 to 1 care and are looked after to the highest standard.

☀️🌡️BOARDING HEATWAVE UPDATE - PLEASE READ🌡️☀️

Some of you might love lounging around in the scorching heat… but the guinea pigs and rabbits definitely won’t! 🐹 🐰 ☀️

With temperatures rising this week, *all boarding drop-offs and collections must take place before 10am or after 5pm*
This is essential to keep our animals safe and prevent heat stress.

🚨 Their welfare comes first - small animals can overheat very quickly, and even short journeys in the middle of the day can be dangerous. Also be extra vigilant for fly strike, particularly in rabbits.

💡 Top tips to keep your little ones cool:

• Keep them out of direct sunlight at all times - parasols are great for this.
• Provide plenty of fresh hay and water (and check it regularly)
• Use frozen water bottles or ice packs wrapped in a towel
• Use ceramic or wooden hides and drape a damp (not wet) tea towel over them
• Offer high water veg like cucumber and and lettuce (not iceberg)
• Keep their living area well ventilated
