At Absolutely Offices, we believe Basingstoke is full of people and organisations who quietly make a real difference to our community – and now is the time to celebrate them.

Nominations are open for the A Place to be Proud Of Awards, taking place on 4th June, and we’d love to see as many local heroes recognised as possible. The nomination deadline is 29 April, so don’t miss your chance. https://bit.ly/4qAtpQv

We’re especially proud to be sponsoring the Unsung Hero Award – a category close to our hearts. It recognises those individuals who go above and beyond without expecting thanks or recognition. The volunteers, the supporters, the people who simply get on with making life better for others.

But there are plenty of other categories too, celebrating everything from community groups and charities to young role models, sports clubs and businesses that make a positive impact.

If someone has made a difference to you, your organisation or your neighbourhood, why not take a few minutes to nominate them? Your nomination could shine a spotlight on their hard work and give them the recognition they truly deserve.

Let’s come together as a community and celebrate what makes Basingstoke a place to be proud of.

Nominate today – and help us recognise the people who make our town special.

AI isn’t just a buzzword anymore – it’s quietly becoming part of everyday working life.

Recent workplace trends show a steady rise in people using artificial intelligence at work. More employees are now using AI daily or a few times a week than in previous years. At the same time, a significant number of people still say they never use AI in their role, which shows adoption is growing – but it’s far from universal.

What’s interesting is that while many organisations have introduced AI tools to improve productivity and efficiency, a large proportion either haven’t yet implemented AI or employees aren’t aware of it being used. That tells us something important: it’s not just about having the technology – it’s about clear communication, training and confidence.

AI use also varies depending on the type of role. Desk-based and remote-capable roles are far more likely to use AI regularly, particularly in sectors such as technology, finance and professional services. In contrast, industries like retail, manufacturing and frontline services are seeing slower growth in adoption.

For UK businesses, the opportunity is clear. AI can support productivity, creativity and efficiency – but only when it’s introduced thoughtfully and supported properly.

At Absolutely Offices, we see how flexible workspaces help businesses adapt to change. Whether it’s a serviced office, hot desk or meeting room, having the right professional environment makes it easier for teams to collaborate, test new ideas and embrace new technology with confidence.

AI adoption is growing steadily. The real difference will be made by organisations that use it strategically and support their people along the way.
