Due to the hot weather 🥵, this evening’s Mind Body Walk has been cancelled.

According to the forecast, it will still be around 35°C at the time of the walk, so we feel it’s best to prioritise everyone’s wellbeing and safety.

Kim looks forward to welcoming you next week, hopefully with much more comfortable walking weather🤞

I’ll be honest… I’m personally put off by the New Year, New You narrative. And I’ve seen more of Joe Wicks in the past week than I did in all of 2025 — which, quite frankly, has annoyed me more than it probably should 😅

I did return to movement today — after a break — but not because it’s January.

Not because I “should”

It came from my own journey, my awareness of how my body is feeling without it and the knowledge I’ve built over years about how movement supports me physically and psychologically.

Which brings me to something that happened with my 11-year-old daughter before my workout.
She’s recently been introduced to the gym at secondary school, so I asked if she wanted to train with me for the first time.
She said no 😫
I replied, “This is what I do for a living — people come to me for support and I’d like to support you.”
She responded, “But I don’t want to.”

And I’m proud that I left it there.

No convincing.

No pushing the benefits — even though I know them inside out.

Because her level of awareness and knowledge is different to mine.
And no matter how much I tell her about the physical and psychological benefits… this is her journey.

As her parent who really wanted to tell her what to do I remembered as a coach who has spent over twenty years helping people build their relationship with movement, this moment mattered.

I teach that movement has to be something we WANT to do and the fact that my daughter knew this already is brilliant 🫶

Not something we’re pressured into — because it’s January, by social media, or by anyone else.

You have your own journey too. Instead of forcing it, take time out from your busy life to listen to what your Mind and Body needs and most importantly wants.

Happy New Year 🧡 Save this in case you need this reminder 🛟
