Mental Health Awareness Week | Wythnos Ymwybyddiaeth Iechyd Meddwl

Weddings are beautiful, emotional, joyful days… but behind the scenes, there can also be stress, overwhelm, anxiety, grief, pressure, difficult family dynamics, and exhaustion.

Over the years, I’ve worked with couples navigating anxiety, depression, autism, bipolar disorder, and other conditions that aren’t always visible to the people around them.

Supporting my clients that are living with these conditions, and similar, matters to me on a personal level.

I had my own struggles a while back, and I understand more than people might realise what it can feel like to carry difficult things quietly while still trying to function normally on the outside. Exhausting is an understatement.

I think that’s one of the reasons creating a calm, safe and supportive environment matters so much to me.

People often assume wedding coordinators are there just for timelines and logistics. But a huge part of the role is helping people feel supported, understood, and reassured, so that they are able to actually breathe and enjoy their day.

Mental Health Awareness Week feels like a good time to remind us all that we never fully know what somebody else may be carrying behind the scenes.

Kindness and patience can make more difference than we realise.

Byddwch yn garedig efo chi’ch hun. A chofiwch mod i yma i chi xx

The reason I’ve shared Hana & Osian’s wedding a couple of times already this week…

Today is their wedding anniversary 💞🥹

This wedding is still one of my favourites from the last 13 years 🫶🏻

One of the things they wanted most from their wedding day was to feel calm, supported, and able to properly enjoy it all, without having to hold everything together themselves.

It’s a privilege to guide and support someone through the run-up to their wedding, and then watch them be fully present and enjoy every second of the day itself.

Happy anniversary 🩷

Pen blwydd priodas hapus iawn i chi’ch dau. Cyfnod bendigedig yn dy gwmni di am rhai misoedd Hana, a braint a phleser llwyr gallu bod yno i chi ar ddiwrnod y briodas.

Mwynewch y dathlu, bois! 🥳🎉🍾🎊

One thing couples often don’t realise when planning their morning timeline…

First look photos.

I promise you - they always take longer than you think.

Over the years, and especially through my time working on TV’s Priodas Pum Mil, I’ve seen just how important these become.

Whether it’s your bridesmaids, your mum, dad, siblings or children, these reactions deserve time.

I always encourage couples to leave at least half an hour in the morning for these photos, not forgetting those little pauses and reactions in between. The worst thing you can do is rush a moment you’ll never get back.

The calmer the morning feels, the more space there is to actually be present and enjoy it all.

This was a truly wonderful moment with Hana’s friends and family, beautifully captured by the talented Oliver.

Dwi’n dal i gofio’r moment yma 🥰
