⚠️ SERVICE UPDATE: DEESIDE & CAIRN MON EARN ⚠️

Hi everyone,

We wanted to give you a full update following the service issues in the Deeside area this evening.

Our engineers have been to the Cairn Mon Earn site to investigate. We have tested the cables feeding the equipment and they are all healthy, but we have confirmed that the network switch on the tower has failed.

✅ The Good News: We have a replacement switch in the van ready to go. ⛔ The Bad News: We cannot install it tonight.

Why the delay? Safety is our number one priority. Wind speeds at the hilltop are currently gusting over 60mph. It is strictly impossible for our team to safely climb the tower to swap the equipment in these conditions.

To add to the challenge, the access road up the hill is currently blocked by multiple fallen trees. This means our team will have to access the site on foot tomorrow morning, carrying the spare parts and safety gear up the hill by hand.

🏡 WORKING FROM HOME TOMORROW? Because of the access issues and the climb required, we will not be back online first thing in the morning.

If you need a connection for work tomorrow, we strongly advise making alternative plans (such as tethering or heading to a cafe/office), as it will be late morning at the earliest before service is restored.

Thank you so much for your patience while we battle the elements to get you back online safely. We will update you again as soon as the team is on site.

⚠️ Service Update: Deeside Area ⚠️

We are writing to let you know that we are currently experiencing a network issue affecting a large number of customers across the Deeside area. We have identified the fault as a switch issue on our tower at Cairn Mon Earn.

Our team is fully aware of the problem and ready to fix it, but we are currently battling the elements. 🌬️

Due to very strong winds at the top of the hill tonight, it is currently impossible for our engineers to safely climb the tower to replace the faulty hardware.

We are working as fast as we can to resolve this, but we simply cannot take risks with the safety of our team in these conditions. We will attempt the climb as soon as the wind drops to a safe level. 👷‍♂️

Further details and specific updates will be emailed and texted directly to all affected customers shortly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

📡✨ Installation Spotlight – Near Dunecht ✨📡

We’ve recently completed an installation for a residential customer near Dunecht who had just moved into their new home — and like many rural properties, they would have been limited to speeds of just 10–15Mbps with the national broadband providers.

With Converged Rural Broadband, that’s now a thing of the past. 🚀
They’re enjoying well over 100Mbps, making working, streaming, and staying connected a breeze.

The installation wasn’t without its challenges — the line of sight was blocked by trees, but our engineers went above and beyond to make it work. By installing the dish discreetly in the garden and burying the cable back to the house, they ensured the customer got online properly and reliably. 🌳🔧

The result?
🏡 Superfast broadband in their new home
📶 A clean, tidy installation
💪 A happy customer

That’s what rural connectivity done right looks like.

⚠️ Weather Update: Amber Warning ⚠️

We are aware that the Met Office has upgraded the weather warnings across Aberdeenshire from Yellow to Amber.

We want to reassure all our customers that the CRB team remains on full standby to deal with any issues this weather throws our way. 🚛

Our network is built to be resilient, with extensive battery backup and redundant links designed exactly for conditions like these. We are happy to report that, so far, no issues have been detected across the network. ✅

If you do notice a problem with your connection, please contact us directly so we can investigate. However, please be aware that due to the deteriorating road conditions, it may take us longer than usual to attend to physical faults. Safety must always come first for our engineers. ❄️

Stay safe and warm out there!
